NOUN
In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs.
Chakras are energy centers in our bodies that govern different functions such as mental, emotional and physical health. They can be thought of as vortexes of energy or wheels of light that are aligned along our spinal column from the base of our spine to the top of our head. Each chakra has a specific color associated with it and represents an area of life where we need balance or healing.

When this chakra is balanced, you feel enlightened and connected to your inner truth.

The wearing of Malas is becoming more of a trend in western culture today but these beads date back thousands of years. It is believed to have originated in India around the eighth century B.C.E
Many religions use beaded necklaces - mala, rosary, subha - to help with prayers or meditation.
But you don't have to be religious to wear or use a Mala. However, one should always respect its significance and understand its use.
Mala Beads all have 108 beads. Why 108? Great question! 108 is a sacred number in many religions and cultures and there are so many connections to the number that we could read on for ages!
In Buddhism, 108 represents the number of mortal desires of mankind which one must overcome to reach Nirvana.
108 also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth. The diameter of the sun is 108 times the diameter of the earth. The distance from the sun to the earth is 108 times the diameter of the sun. The distance of the moon to the earth is 108 times the diameter of the moon.
It has also been said that humans have 108 feelings, 36 related to the past,36 related to the present and 36 related to the future.
In Pranayama it is said if one is able to be so calm in meditation and to have only 108 breaths in a day, enlightenment will come.
How cool is all of this information??!!!

Knots in between each bead are there to create space to protect the stones from rubbing against each other and secure the necklace. So, if your Mala ever breaks you won't lose all your beads!

The knots are there to allow your fingers to move easily over each bead while meditating with your Mala.
The Guru Bead is your teacher, and it holds all your prayers and intentions. The Guru Bead is where you start and finish your meditation.
All of my Mala necklaces are made with love and with the highest intention in mind for the wearer. I also cleanse and infuse each piece with Reiki. I absolutely love making these and always feel so wonderful while holding the crystal beads!!!
